Description

A SHARPS'S MODEL PERCUSSION 1859 MILLITARY CARBINE. 39" overall with 22" .52 barrel with seven grooves, barrel retained by a single band, ladder rear sight. Barrel engraved 'Sharps Rifle Manufg. Co. Hertford Con.' &'New Model 1863' Ladder rear sight engraved 'R.S. Laurence Pat April 12th 1859'. Action engraved and dated 'C Sharps Pat October 5th 1852'. Numbered 32230. Walnut two piece full stock with iron furniture including sling bar, brass butt box lid, with numerous maker's and inspector's marks. Circa 1864. In good condition some surface rust on barrel.
